| Peter G. Kleinhenz - Managing Director
Peter Kleinhenz is a Managing Director of CID Capital. He has been actively involved in technology-based businesses as an entrepreneur, consultant, and investor for virtually all of his professional career and has provided leadership for new venture formation in the life sciences sector for over 20 years. Peter leads the firm's investments in health care technology.
Peter is a director of APT Therapeutics, a biopharmaceutical company whose technology includes protein informatics, protein engineering and cheminformatics tools and software; Axiomed Spine Corporation, a company focusing on the development of spinal implant solutions that will restore the native mobility of the spine; EKOS Corporation, a company developing and commercializing novel high technology ultrasound-enhanced micro-catheters for dissolving blood clots in the brain or in the peripheral arteries in the legs; Renal Solutions, a company designing an innovative home hemodialysis system; and Qorval Integrated Solutions, a highly specialized professional services company focusing on business process and system optimization.
Peter has been active in economic development issues on the local and state level for over 20 years and currently serves as Treasurer of BioOhio, Ohio's life science initiative, and as a member of BioOhio's Central Ohio regional efforts. He is a founding member of the Midwest Healthcare Investment Network and serves as a member of MHIN's Board of Directors. He is on the Advisory Board for the BioGenerator at the Nidus Center in St. Louis, Missouri, a virtual commercialization and technology transfer center designed to harness the world-class research being done within the St. Louis region and to channel the research into a steady flow of start-up companies.
Prior to joining CID Capital in 2001, Peter served as Vice President of Commercialization for Battelle Memorial Institute and as an independent consultant to The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Battelle, and a variety of life science start-ups, assisting in developing business plans and raising seed and venture capital. Peter was a partner in two Columbus start-up companies: Progenics Corporation and Neoprobe Corporation. Progenics engaged in product development and pilot manufacturing services for medical products and industrial controls, focusing on electronic, software, and electro-mechanical design. He was CEO and owner of Progenics, which he sold to Fitch, Inc., an international product design and development firm, in 1997. At Neoprobe Corporation, a biotech device company focused on cancer diagnostics and therapeutics, he served in a variety of senior executive positions including CFO, Vice President of Manufacturing, and Vice President of Strategic Planning and Business Development.
Peter received an MBA from The Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University, a bachelor's degree in history from Loyola University of Chicago, and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Ohio. |
